报告题目:Designing the Neuro-Electronic Interface: From Nanostructured to Flexible Electrodes
报告摘要:
Neural electrodes are the core components of neuroelectronic devices, enabling the recording and stimulation of neural activity. Our research focuses on two primary areas: (1) the design and characterization of the neuron-electrode interface, and (2) the development of flexible neural interfaces for both in vivo and in vitro applications. Microelectrode arrays, which serve as a bridge between neuronal systems and electronic devices, still face challenges in signal fidelity and the precision of neural modulation. Through advances in electrode architecture, interface characterization, and device flexibility, these studies aim to improve the performance of neural recording and stimulation technologies and support the development of next-generation neuroelectronic systems.
报告人简介:
Prof. Dr. Andreas Offenhäusser is currently Director of the Institute of Bioelectronics (IBI-3) at Forschungszentrum Jülich and full professor at RWTH Aachen University, Germany. His research focuses on the integration of biological systems with electronic devices to improve our understanding of neuronal function and to develop innovative diagnostic and therapeutic technologies. His research findings have been published in international journals, including Science, Nature Communications, and Advanced Materials, and have received more than 15,000 citations. He has also made important contributions to technological innovation and translation, holding multiple granted patents related to micro- and nanoelectrode fabrication, neural implants, and biosensors for disease biomarker detection.
