报告题目:Advanced Functional Materials Steering Health and Energy Transition

报告摘要:

Advanced materials are essential for innovations in energy, electronics, healthcare, mobility, and sustainable manufacturing. Among them, functional thin films and coatings play a key role by enabling precise control of surface and interface properties, which determine the performance, efficiency, and durability of advanced devices. With the growing demand for resource-efficient manufacturing, critical material substitution, and climate-neutral technologies, the design and processing of nanostructured ceramic thin films have become increasingly important. By tailoring their composition and interfaces, properties such as charge transport, catalytic activity, corrosion resistance, and optical performance can be optimized for various applications. This lecture will present recent advances in the chemical engineering of functional thin films and nanostructured ceramic interfaces for energy and healthcare applications. Examples will include ceramic coatings for electrolysers and hydrogen production, interface engineering for high-performance perovskite solar cells, and functionalized SiO₂ nanomaterials for advanced drug delivery.
